The recipe for Gouda cheese is hundreds of years old. Salt not only makes the cheese very tasty, but also has a very important function in the preparation of cheese. Once the cheeses are prepared they are given time to lie in a brine bath for several days.
A brine bath is best described as a salt bath. Because the cheeses are allowed to rest in this bath for several days, the salt soaks into the cheeses, making them firm and Smaakvol.
Cheese with low-sodium salt
Low-sodium cheeses are prepared with a different type of salt than normal cheeses. Low-sodium diet salt is used. This makes the cheese a lot healthier and makes these cheeses extremely suitable for people on low-sodium diets. Natria cheese has a delicious Romig flavor and is aged using traditional methods.
