Gouda matured cheese
Gouda matured cheese has a minimum ripening time of 16 weeks and is made from the best Dutch milk. This ensures that these cheeses have a stronger flavor than our young or young-aged cheeses. The taste is best described as Licht pikant. Delicious Romig and full of flavor, but not yet as Pikant as our Gouda aged cheeses.
Our Gouda matured cheese is ripened on wooden boards. The moisture released in the cheeses is absorbed into the wooden boards. Our cheeses are turned regularly to ensure even ripening.
Processing Gouda mature cheese
Mature cheese is a delicious treat for on bread, but mature cheese is also easy to incorporate into various hot dishes. Use aged cheese when you want to garnish savory pies. Just au gratin in the oven for a few minutes and you can go to the table.
It is of course possible to serve our young cheese with drinks or just eat it on the go. Our Gouda mature cheeses are Gepasteuriseerd, which means you can eat them while you are expecting.
