A genuine Edam cheese can be recognised by its round shape and red or yellow rind. The cheese is known worldwide as Edammer Holland. This designation has therefore been protected as an authentic brand name by the European Commission since 2010. So you can be sure that when you buy an Edammer Holland cheese, it meets the strict guidelines.
